What's an ARC?

Shortly before a book's release date, Advance Review Copies (ARCs) are sent to select readers in exchange for an honest review of the book.  This enables authors to have reviews posted as quickly as possible once the book goes up for sale (the time period at which the book is most visible). Reviews on a sales platform like Amazon allow potential readers to determine if the book might be enjoyable for them, as well as attract new readers to try the book.

How does it work?

The Advance Reader Team is a group of volunteers who read and review ARCs of my newest book. A free copy of the book will be given before its release date.  Readers are expected to read the book and post an honest review of it on Amazon and Goodreads before its release date.

ARC reviews should avoid posting spoilers and plot summaries, and instead focus on what makes the book enjoyable.  Including information about characters and pacing, for example, help new readers decide if the book appeals to their tastes.

Members of the team are expected to read and review their ARC copy by the release day deadline.  Before sending out each ARC copy, I will check in with members to ensure they can meet the deadline, or if they would prefer to opt out.
